HM the King congratulates FAR football teamFez - HM King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the FAR football team which won the Throne Cup (Season 2008-2009).
In the message, the sovereign expresses his heartfelt congratulations to the team and its large public for this well-deserved national sports breakthrough. The monarch hailed the FAR team and its technical and administrative staff for this new achievement, inviting them to redouble their efforts, maintain the sports record of achievements and raise the Moroccan flag in regional and international matches. The FAR team won on Wednesday the Throne Cup, its 11th title in the competition, after beating FUS Rabat 5-4 on penalty kicks (1-1 tie in the books) during the final match played in Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. The FAR team remains the most titled team in this competition with 11 Throne Cups (1959, 1971, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008).
