Morocco tops Maghreb countries in terms of political rights, civil liberties - Freedom HouseWashington - Morocco tops Maghreb Arab countries in terms of political rights and civil liberties, Washington-based think-tank 'Freedom House' said on Tuesday in its 2010 report.
"Morocco had the best standing of all other countries of the Maghreb region in terms of liberties," Director of Research at The report, which gives an overview on the situation of the development of civil and political liberties in the world, grants Morocco the "best performance” in the Maghreb region in terms liberties and political rights, he said. Founded in 1941, Freedom House supports the promotion of liberties, human rights and democracy in the world.
