Morocco spent $ 90 million on medicines and medical equipment in 2009, Minister says

Rabat - Morocco's Health Ministry spent more than 731 million dirhams ($ 91 mln) in 2009 on medicines and medical equipment compared to 680 million dirhams in 2008, Health Minister Yasmina Baddou said on Wednesday.

    Speaking at the question time of the House of Representatives, Baddou said that her department is endeavoring to expand the list of medical equipment purchased by hospitals to 256 types.

    She added that 40 million dirhams were earmarked for 2010 to purchase medicines and medical equipment for people with cardiovascular diseases.
