Sahrawis want autonomy under Morocco's sovereignty: NGO

Las Palmas - Sahrawis "want" autonomy under Morocco's sovereignty, as a solution to the Sahara issue, president of the "Association des entrepreneures du Sahara marocain" in Canaries said.

    "As a Moroccan, I would like to say it publicly: we want autonomy under Morocco's flag," Aicha Rahal told online newspaper "Canariasaldia".

    She added that "autonomy is a form of self-determination" in line with UN resolutions.

   Rahal said the regionalization project, launched recently by HM King Mohammed VI, will enable the rest of the world to get well acquainted with Morocco's reality.

    "The Sahara is Moroccan. It has historically so, and will be so forever," she said.
