H.M. the king presides over second religious lecture of Ramadan

Casablanca - H.M. king Mohammed VI, accompanied by younger brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, and cousin, Prince Moulay Ismail, presided over the second religious lecture in the holy month of Ramadan.

Given here on Wednesday, the lecture was delivered by the president of the local Council of the Ulema of Hay Hassani, Casablanca, Saïd Bihi, on the topic: "the love of the country is inspired by faith."

The topic draws its inspiration from the saying of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) : "oh Allah make Medina beloved to us, like our love for Mecca or more," narrated by Albokhari.

The lecturer explained the historical circumstances surrounding the saying which is related to the forced emigration of the Prophet and his followers from Mecca to Medina.

The saying confirms the legitimacy of one's attachment to their homeland, he said, adding that the love of the homeland is part of the religious prescriptions in the Qoran and the Sunna.

In this regard, the lecturer stresses the importance for everyone to assume their citizenship by accomplishing their duties.
