Morocco endeavors to achieve African and Arab Unities, FMTripoli - Morocco, a founding member of the African family, has since its independence, endeavored to achieve the African and Arab unities, Morocco's Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, said, here Saturday.
Speaking at the opening of the 13th session of the Standing Committee on Arab-African cooperation (October 10-11), Fassi Fihri said that "the kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, has made of South-South cooperation a strategic choice and a centrepiece of its foreign policy." The North Africa country, he went on, will deploy the necessary efforts to strengthen the Arab-African solidarity and promote relations between the two parties on a solid foundation of open dialogue, mutual respect, active solidarity and fruitful partnership. Fassi Fihri added that Morocco's commitment to the development of cooperation between Africa and the Arab world stems from its unwavering sense of belonging to these two entities which have common interests. The minister said the 13th session of the Standing Committee on Arab-African cooperation offers an ideal opportunity to overcome the difficulties which hampered cooperation between Africa and the Arab world.
