Morocco supports Palestinian President for 'serious and permanent' talks with Israel, FM says

Cairo - Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri reiterated Morocco's support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for "serious and permanent" talks with Israel that lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

    He told MAP following the Arab League Committee meeting, held in Cairo on Thursday, that the question of Al Quds is the heart of the Palestinian cause, recalling the great efforts made by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, to preserve the Arab-Islamic identity of the Holy city.

    The Committee agreed at the end of the meeting to send a response letter to the U.S. administration in which Arab countries call for direct negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis.
