During this ceremony, which marks the 10th anniversary of "Clean Beaches" programme, Princess Lalla Hasnaa read a message, addressed by HM King Mohammed VI, in which the Sovereign praised the work carried out by the Foundation, which falls within the scope of the development efforts spearheaded by His Majesty as part of a coherent, continuous program designed to promote awareness about the need to preserve Morocco's natural resources and diversity within the framework of a sustainable development policy.
In this respect, HM the King underlined that the "Clean Beaches" program is a model of practical action for preserving Morocco's beaches and for promoting environmental conservation habits through partnership mechanisms and the combined efforts of all the stakeholders involved.
The Monarch urged all actors involved in environmental protection, particularly the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, to take an active part in the preparation of the comprehensive national environmental charter, for which His Majesty called in the State of the Nation Address.
"We shall thus place environmental issues at the heart of all development programs," he said.
On the same occasion, Princess Lalla Hasnaa handed the Trophies to the winners in recognition of their efforts to preserve Morocco’s beaches and protect the environment.
Lalla Hasnaa's commitment Trophy was awarded to the National Electricity Utility (ONE), and the rural commune of Moulay Bousselham.
The same Trophy went to SAMIR company and the urban commune of Mohammedia, in addition to the companies of Shell and Jaiman Baco and the Banque Populaire.
Lalla Hasnaa's Initiative Trophy went to the National Drinking Water Utility (ONEP), the urban commune of Bouznika and the Association "Amis de l'environnement" (friends of the environment).
Morocco's state-owned phosphate company (OCP), and the Association of teachers of biology and geology also got the same Trophy, which was also awarded to Morocco’s telecom operator, Maroc Telecom.
The Initiative Trophy was also given to Morocco's flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc, and the urban commune of Agadir.
Lalla Hasnaa's Innovation Trophy was allotted to cement company, Ciment du Maroc, and the urban commune of Safi.
The same Trophy went to the National Ports Agency, the urban commune of Essaouira, Akwagroup, the rural commune of Mireleft, and Morocco's railroads office (ONCF).
During the same event, which was attended by cabinet members, Princess Lalla Hasnaa visited an exhibition organized by partners of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of Environment.
Princess Lalla Hasnaa also attended the screening of a film entitled "ten years of clean beaches," before handing awards to the Foundation's economic partners.
On the same occasion, which was marked by music and theatre spectacles, Princess Lalla Hasnaa followed the presentation of the Foundation’s institutional spot.
