Over 2 tonnes of drugs seized in northern MoroccoNador - Security and customs services seized, Tuesday and Monday, in two separate operations, over 2 tonnes of cannabis resin (locally known as chira).
The first catch, a total of 1.75 tonnes of chira wrapped in plastic, was found in the northern province of Larache. Another catch of 930 kg of cannabis resin was concealed inside a car, 100 km west of the northern city of Nador. In 2009, over 22 tonnes of chira were seized in Nador, including a 19.5 catch in April, the largest haul ever seized in the city's port.
