Prince Philippe of Belgium meets Moroccan Energy Minister

Marrakech - Prince Philippe of Belgium met, on Monday in Marrakech, with Moroccan Minister of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment, Amina Benkhadra, on the sidelines of the 2009 MENA-OECD Ministerial Conference.

    Benkhadra told MAP that the meeting was an opportunity to highlight the opportunities offered by Morocco to Belgian investors and to inform the Belgian delegation, which accompanied the Belgian prince, on major reforms undertaken by the Kingdom.

     It was also an occasion to present the different strategies of development in various sectors including industry, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, water and energy, which are likely to encourage Belgian firms to invest in the North African country, she added.

       "We have also presented to the Belgian delegation the progress made by the Kingdom under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI,” she said, adding that 2010 will be a landmark year to implement the various action plans for sustainable development and environmental preservation through programs of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
