IDB's funding to Morocco reached $ 3.4 billion in 1978-2009, MinisterCasablanca - The total funding of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to Morocco reached over 27.3 billion dirhams ($3.4 billion) from 1978 to 2009, Minister of Economic and General Affairs Nizar Baraka said here on Tuesday.
Speaking at an information day on the services provided by the IDB to the Moroccan operators, Baraka said that the bank is a key partner in finance development in the North African Kingdom. Several economic sectors benefited from IDB's funding, including foreign trade, agriculture, infrastructure. Baraka said. The Bank also provided technical assistance such as funding feasibility studies, he added. For his part, IDB's CEO Ahmed Mohamed Ali hails the efforts made by Morocco to support the Bank’s actions, adding that there are great opportunities for consolidating cooperation between the IDB and Moroccan firms.
