Marrakech, January 13 -
HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Association against Cancer (ALSC), accompanied by Princesses and First Ladies invited to the International Conference on Cancer Control in the Middle-East and Africa (January 12-14), visited the oncology and haematology center at the Mohammed VI University Hospital on Friday in Marrakech.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Salma was given details on activities and missions conducted by the center, the first of its kind in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region and neighboring regions.
The facility provides health care for cancer and blood diseases patients as well as training for physicians, and contributes to promoting scientific research in relation with cancer and hematology.
The 86 bed-facility boasts modern technologies, including conformational radiotherapy and brachytherapy techniques, in addition to a six room-unit for bone marrow transplant.
Princess Lalla Salma, along with the princesses and first ladies, visited the center which also includes an oncology day hospital, a chemotherapy unit, and a program for drugs management.
